...an update of sorts...

i've had a few requests for an update on wedding stuff. i've been pretty bummed out working on wedding stuff. i feel super stressed about everything and i don't know what to do. i feel like i am trying to do everything at once. where did my creative muse go?

last week i went shopping with my stepmom and memaw to get the wedding flowers. it was a brutal trip ( i ended up having the flu, strep throat and an ear infection, all at once), not a fun way to spend the day shopping. i got all the flowers, i do believe. we are doing greens and white flowers. i think this is going to look the prettiest with my dresses. i wanted to do touches of pink in there too. we went to a wholesale flower shop in lexington and bought some stuff (i wasn't too impressed by it, i am going to take some stuff back i do believe) and we went to garden ridge! bethany (my wonderful bridesmaid) told me to try there for flowers. there were tons of options. we bought quite a bit from there, a whole bag for $40 dollars. thrifty me? speaking of flowers, i was lucky enough to be able to snag a whole box of flower reminents from a lady i work with. $10 dollars for the whole box. they are wonderful white and gree flowers!

this past weekend we went to ikea. logan saw instantly when we walked in beautiful tea light candles! i found tea lights and their holders! i spent a total of 11.95! much less expensive that what i was going to pay at michaels for them in plastic holders. today i purcheased some beautiful pillar candles from the same lady i work with from her wedding. they're from ikea as well. she gave them to me for $1 dollar a piece. she has some smaller ones too that i am going to purchase as well.

so here are some ideas i have... any help would be much appreciated.
  • i am thinking that i want to do fresh wild flowers at the reception in mason jars. any suggestions on where to get them? but also, what about doing fake flowers in the mason jars with river rocks in the bottom. this is something that i can do way before the wedding and not have to worry about it.
  • another thing, i want to make my steel building reception site look as beautiful as i can make it. any suggestions on where i can find tulle or linen to decorate? or how to even decorate?
i'm lost... come find me!

  1. I would say artificial for reception. That way it can be set up the night before and no worries about someone having to set them up middday Sat for you. Also, tobacco cloth for helping decorate the metal building... drape it, hide stuff with it...whatever you wish. You can usually get this at farm feed stores. Check with the fire code before you buy to make sure you can use it! ~B
